How interesting that before your post I read one on a similar topic. Elif Shafak wrote about writing places today, encouraging people not to stop from writing for the lack of a perfect place to start with. It’s wonderful that you have a vision you are moving towards.
What a wonderful new writing space! How is it working out? Did you choose the mug holding your pens on purpose? I love my little writing nook in the corner of my bedroom.
The mug was a gift from my best friend who understood how important having my own space was. The bureau is a constant joy and makes the whole writing process so much easier to settle down to.
What a thoughtful gift! Have you read A Room of One's Own? I only finally got round to reading it last year (I think it was). Still relevant today, I think.
I'm so glad the bureau is bringing you so much joy and helping the writing process along!
No shame in that! There are so SO many books I haven't read that I wish I had. There are too many good books to read and we can't read them all. Having said that, I was glad when I finally did get round to reading it.
Oooh I am considering a bureau myself, how fabulous, and I hope it helps you with your writing. I too currently have no space to call my own, and am desperate for a space where I can let out my creative energies, but as yet it is the sofa or the dining table, so a bureau would be amazing, yours is fabulous!!
Lovely! I was visualising a much taller cabinet, but finding a proper writing bureau is amazing!! There’s room to add an inspiring picture (as a ‘view’) above it. It’s spring down here in Australia and spring-cleaning is well under way. I’m glad you’re making such excellent progress too. Hugs from afar.

I have literally just read her piece too!

To my shame, I have not. However, I’ve just downloaded it for the princely sum of 0.49p so I’ll read it at some point soon.

You were meant to have that bureau Helen. It is beautiful. A few lovely paintings will give you that view.

There’s a stack of pictures waiting to be put up around the house and I’m planning a group of small ones above the desk.
